We are passionate educators, not travel agents. Intentional Expeditions is a premier purveyor of educational travel and eco–tourism in Costa Rica, creating customized experiential learning opportunities for schools, families, and friends while working to develop a healthier, more sustainable planet. Our goal is to educate a new generation of environmentally conscious and culturally aware citizens who connect with the natural wonders of the earth and become deeply aware of the complex issues facing our environment, local communities, and the world.

We aim to create experiences that will give students and participants ‘pause’ about the state of the world they live in, and how they might make their own positive contribution. Since 2006, we have been planning, supervising, guiding and executing offered teachers, students, families, and individuals customized expeditions to select domestic and international destinations.

Safety is paramount on every Intentional Expedition. We request First Aid course training to our guides so that in addition to their naturalist training, they are certified to assess and resolve safety issues in any given situation or environment.

We are a dedicated interdisciplinary team that works hand in hand with the objectives of teachers and school administrators to create personalized experiences while always meeting educational, budget and travel duration goals with the highest safety standards.

We very carefully select and inspect our suppliers, making sure to work only and exclusively with those who meet the highest levels of security. Suppliers are always selected and vetted according to the type of group and ages that we are working with, always preventing risks and dangers. We know that not all activities are for everyone, especially when there are young people and children involved.
